We are looking for a dedicated and organized School Librarian to manage the school library and encourage reading habits among students. The ideal candidate should maintain library resources, assist students and teachers in locating books and reference materials, and ensure a well-organized learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the school library and maintain books and digital resources.
- Issue, receive, and maintain records of library books.
- Help students and teachers find books and reference materials.
- Organize and classify books systematically.
- Promote reading through library activities and book exhibitions.
- Maintain library discipline and a quiet study environment.
- Prepare reports and maintain library inventory.
- Coordinate with school management for the purchase of new books and educational resources.
Requirements
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with library management software is preferred.
- Passion for reading and supporting students' learning.
- Prior experience as a librarian is an advantage.
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Library Science (B.Lib./B.Lib.I.Sc.) or Master's Degree in Library Science (M.Lib.) preferred.
- Freshers with relevant qualifications may also apply.
