About the Role
The Document Controller is responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining all project-related documentation in compliance with company standards and industry regulations within the Oil & Gas sector. This role ensures accuracy, traceability, and timely distribution of technical and commercial documents across all project phases.
Key Responsibilities
· Establish and maintain document control systems for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects.
· Manage the lifecycle of documents including creation, review, approval, distribution, and archiving.
· Ensure all documents comply with company standards, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
· Control and track incoming and outgoing documentation such as drawings, specifications, reports, and vendor documents.
· Maintain document registers, logs, and transmittals.
· Coordinate with engineering teams, vendors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure timely document submission and approvals.
· Implement version control and ensure proper document numbering as per project standards.
· Perform quality checks on documentation for completeness and accuracy.
· Support audits by maintaining proper records and ensuring document traceability.
· Manage electronic document management systems (EDMS) and ensure data integrity.
· Assist in compiling final project dossiers, handover documentation, and close-out reports.
Skills Desired
· Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
· Strong knowledge of document control processes and standards (e.g., ISO standards).
· Experience with EDMS tools such as Aconex, SharePoint, Documentum, or similar platforms.
· Familiarity with engineering documentation (P&IDs, drawings, datasheets, etc.)
· Strong communication and coordination abilities, attention to detail & accuracy.
Experience: 10-15 years
