Podi N Plate LLP is a South Indian restaurant focused on serving authentic regional flavors with quality, consistency, and excellent customer experience. We are seeking a skilled and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and uphold the standards of traditional South Indian cuisine.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily kitchen operations.
- Prepare and supervise authentic South Indian dishes including dosa, idli, vada, uttapam, sambar, chutneys, curries, and specialty regional recipes.
- Ensure consistency in food taste, quality, portioning, and presentation.
- Create and improve menu offerings based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients.
- Train, supervise, and schedule kitchen staff effectively.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety.
- Monitor inventory, kitchen supplies, and food costs to minimize wastage.
- Coordinate with management for catering orders, special events, and promotions.
- Ensure smooth kitchen workflow during busy service hours.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in a South Indian restaurant.
- Strong expertise in traditional South Indian cuisine and cooking techniques.
- Ability to lead and manage a kitchen team efficiently.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary diploma or hospitality certification preferred.
- Experience in menu planning and kitchen cost control.
- Knowledge of multi-cuisine cooking is an added advantage.
