A College Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students, to and from the college campus and other designated locations while ensuring passenger safety and following traffic regulations.
Job Summary:
The College Bus Driver is responsible for operating college buses safely and efficiently to transport students, according to assigned routes and schedules. The driver ensures students safety, maintains the vehicle in good operating condition, and complies with all traffic laws and institutional policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate college buses on assigned routes and schedules.
- Transport students, and visitors to designated destinations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the assigned vehicle.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and college transportation policies.
- Ensure passengers board and exit the bus safely.
- Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, and incident reports.
- Communicate with the transportation supervisor regarding route changes, delays, or emergencies.
- Respond appropriately to accidents, breakdowns, and emergency situations.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to all passengers.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2–3 years of professional driving experience (preferred).
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or special events.
- Physically fit to perform vehicle inspections and assist passengers when needed.
