Freight Forwarder (U.S. Logistics)

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and results-driven Freight Forwarder to coordinate and manage international freight shipments, ensuring smooth movement of cargo from origin to destination. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, negotiation, coordination, and multitasking skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced U.S. logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate international freight shipments between shippers, carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and consignees.
- Handle air and ocean freight shipments, including import and export operations.
- Negotiate freight rates with carriers and logistics partners to secure competitive pricing and reliable service.
- Prepare and manage shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, and other required documents.
- Coordinate with customers and overseas agents regarding shipment schedules, rates, bookings, and documentation.
- Track and monitor shipments from pickup through final delivery and provide timely status updates.
- Handle booking, shipment tendering, cargo tracking, and delivery coordination.
- Communicate proactively with customers and partners to resolve delays, documentation issues, routing changes, and other shipment-related concerns.
- Maintain accurate shipment records, rate information, and documentation in company systems/TMS.
- Coordinate with internal teams, including operations, sales, documentation, accounting, and management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, overseas agents, and logistics partners.
- Achieve daily and weekly performance targets related to shipment handling, customer service, cost control, and operational efficiency.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong negotiation, coordination, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Good knowledge of freight forwarding and international logistics processes.
- Familiarity with air freight, ocean freight, import/export procedures, and shipping documentation is preferred.
- Knowledge of U.S. geography, international trade, freight terminology, and logistics operations is an advantage.
- Strong time-management and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, night-shift environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office, TMS, freight-forwarding software, and other logistics systems.
- Customer-focused approach with strong attention to detail.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
