Role Purpose:
Ensure a safe, secure, and compliant hospital environment by managing fire safety systems, general safety practices, and security operations in line with statutory and accreditation requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Ø Ensure compliance with fire safety norms as per the National Building Code (NBC) of India and the Goa Fire Department requirements.
Ø Maintain and monitor fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems (hydrants, sprinklers, extinguishers, etc.)
Ø Coordinate timely renewal of Fire NOC and other statutory approvals
Ø Conduct monthly safety rounds across all hospital areas (clinical & non-clinical)
Ø Prepare and circulate HIRA (Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment) reports to respective custodians
Ø Track and ensure timely closure of identified risks and observations
Ø Plan and conduct monthly emergency code mock drills (fire, evacuation, disaster, etc.)
Ø Document observations, gaps, and improvement areas with detailed reports
Ø Present mock drill findings to stakeholders and management
Ø Coordinate and participate in monthly Safety Committee meetings
Ø Present HIRA findings, safety round reports, mock drill observations, and compliance status
Ø Drive Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and track closure
Ø Prepare structured presentations for committee discussions
Ø Oversee hospital security operations, including access control, CCTV surveillance, and manpower deployment
Ø Ensure the safety of patients, staff, visitors, and hospital assets
Ø Investigate and report safety/security incidents and ensure corrective actions
Ø Conduct regular training programs on fire safety, emergency response, and workplace safety
Ø Ensure staff awareness of evacuation procedures and the use of fire safety equipment
Ø Ensure compliance with NABH and other applicable statutory requirements
Ø Maintain documentation, SOPs, logs, and records for audit readiness
Ø Support internal and external audits and inspections
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
1. Completion of monthly safety rounds and HIRA reporting
2. Timely closure of safety observations and CAPA actions
3. Effectiveness and frequency of mock drills conducted
4. Compliance with statutory and NABH standards
5. Reduction in safety/security incidents
6. Audit readiness and compliance scores
Qualifications & Experience:
Graduate/Diploma in Fire & Safety / Industrial Safety or related field
5–8 years of relevant experience, preferably in hospital/healthcare setup
