Coding Instructor / Mathematics Instructor / Both
Live online classes · International & Indian students · Part-time to full-time
About the role
Modern Age Coders runs live, 1-on-1 and small-group coding and mathematics classes for students in 15+ countries, spanning Python, Java, web development, AI/ML, and mathematics — including exam-focused tracks (AP CSA, AP Calculus BC, IB CS, IGCSE, USACO). We are hiring instructors for coding, mathematics, or both — you can apply for either subject, or both if you're strong in each.
This is not a script-reading role. Above all, we're looking for smart, sharp people with a genuine learning habit — instructors who can pick up a new topic quickly, understand it deeply themselves, and then make a student understand it just as well. On top of that, we need someone personable enough to make a live class feel energetic — someone who explains clearly, reads the room, keeps a sense of humour, and builds a rapport that keeps students (and their parents) coming back.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver live 1-on-1 and small-group classes in coding and/or mathematics, going deep on concepts rather than rushing through material.
- Keep classes engaging and lively — clear spoken delivery, good energy, and the ability to hold a student's attention for the full session.
- Set and review homework/assignments after every class, and track each student's progress.
- Learn and teach to the relevant curriculum for each student's country/exam board (e.g. AP, IB, IGCSE, USACO, or general school curricula) — most students are outside India, some are in India.
- Maintain strict discipline and punctuality — starting and ending classes on schedule, and following the timetable shared for each student.
- Take demo classes with prospective students, with a focus on converting international trial classes into enrolled students.
- Communicate professionally with students and parents, and flag any scheduling or learning issues early.
Schedule & availability
- Expect to teach roughly 4–5 hours per day, 5–6 days per week, depending on the schedule received from students/parents.
- Because most students are based outside India, class timings can fall in the morning or night, depending on the student's time zone — flexibility across shifts is required.
- Exact daily hours and days off will be finalised based on live student schedules; this is a demanding but flexible timetable, not a fixed 9-to-5.
What we're looking for
- Smart, sharp, and a fast learner — comfortable picking up a new topic on your own and understanding it deeply enough to teach it well, not just deliver a fixed script.
- Strong command of coding (Python/Java/web fundamentals) and/or mathematics — apply for coding, mathematics, or both, depending on your strengths.
- Excellent spoken English and communication — clear, expressive, and able to keep a class lively and fun without losing rigor.
- Genuine depth on concepts — able to explain the "why," not just the "how," and adapt explanations to different learning speeds.
- Reliable setup: a pen tablet (for live working-out/annotation), a stable high-speed internet connection, and a quiet, professional teaching environment.
- Self-discipline: consistent punctuality, class prep, and homework follow-up without needing to be chased.
- Prior teaching/tutoring experience (online preferred); experience with international students is a strong plus.
Compensation
Starting structure
₹400 per class successfully conducted, paid on a per-class basis.
Path to fixed salary
Once class volume is consistent and performance is strong, this converts to a fixed monthly salary of ₹40,000.
Reviews
Performance is reviewed regularly, with scope for increases beyond ₹40,000/month as class load and student outcomes grow.
In short: you're paid for every class from day one, and move onto a guaranteed monthly salary as your schedule fills up and results show — with room to grow from there.
Application: teaching video (required)
As part of your application, submit a short teaching video of yourself explaining any one topic — coding or mathematics, your choice. This is how we assess your teaching style and how well you engage students, so pick a topic you can explain with energy and clarity.
- Length: 5–10 minutes, one topic, taught as if to a real student.
- Upload the video to Google Drive and share the link with your application.
- Submit the Drive link directly in the Indeed chat with your application — this is where we'll be looking for it.
- Sharing setting must be "Anyone with the link can view." Please double-check this before submitting — applications are screened automatically, so a link that isn't set to public access cannot be reviewed and the application will be rejected.
- Make sure the video and audio are clear — this genuinely is a big part of how you're evaluated.
How to apply
Interested candidates should share a brief introduction, relevant teaching experience, availability, and the teaching video link above. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to take a short demo class as part of the selection process.
