As part of our B2B Pharmaceutical vertical, we are building compliant and efficient wholesale pharmaceutical operations.
Job Purpose
We are looking for a Pharma Competent Person – Wholesale Operations to oversee pharmaceutical wholesale activities and support compliance with applicable Drugs & Cosmetics laws, Drug Rules and requirements of the State Drug Licensing Authority.
The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring that procurement, storage, sale, distribution, documentation and handling of pharmaceutical products are carried out in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Competent Person for pharmaceutical wholesale operations, subject to approval/acceptance by the applicable Drug Licensing Authority.
- Support the application, maintenance and compliance requirements of the Wholesale Drug Licence.
- Supervise the procurement, receipt, storage, sale and distribution of pharmaceutical products.
- Ensure medicines are procured only from appropriately licensed manufacturers, distributors or suppliers.
- Maintain and verify purchase invoices, sales invoices, batch details, expiry records and other statutory documentation.
- Ensure proper storage conditions, including temperature and other applicable requirements for medicines.
- Monitor stock, batch numbers, expiry dates, damaged products, returns and recalls.
- Ensure appropriate handling and documentation of expired, recalled or returned medicines.
- Maintain required registers, records and documentation as prescribed by applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with the Drug Inspector and Drug Licensing Authority during inspections, verification and compliance activities.
- Monitor day-to-day pharmaceutical operations to identify and address regulatory compliance gaps.
- Guide operational staff regarding proper handling, storage, documentation and movement of pharmaceutical products.
- Ensure the business does not procure, stock, sell or distribute pharmaceutical products in violation of applicable laws or licence conditions.
- Assist management in maintaining ongoing regulatory compliance as the pharmaceutical B2B/quick-commerce operation expands.
Eligibility
Candidates meeting any applicable eligibility route prescribed under the applicable Drugs & Cosmetics Rules / State Drug Licensing Authority may be considered.
Preferred Qualification:
- D.Pharm / B.Pharm with valid registration with the respective State Pharmacy Council.
- Candidates with relevant pharmaceutical wholesale/distribution experience will be preferred.
Other Eligible Candidates:
- Graduates with the required experience in dealing with or selling pharmaceutical drugs, wherever permitted under applicable rules.
- Candidates satisfying other Competent Person eligibility criteria prescribed or accepted by the applicable Drug Licensing Authority.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Registered Pharmacist with valid Pharmacy Council registration.
- Prior experience with a licensed pharmaceutical wholesaler, distributor, stockist or pharmacy business.
- Good understanding of pharmaceutical wholesale operations and regulatory documentation.
- Knowledge of drug storage, batch/expiry management, purchase and sales documentation.
- Ability to coordinate with regulatory authorities and support inspections.
- Strong attention to compliance, documentation and operational accuracy.
- Responsible, reliable and capable of taking ownership of pharmaceutical compliance activities.
Required Documents
Candidates should be prepared to provide:
- Educational qualification certificates.
- Pharmacy Council Registration Certificate/number, where applicable.
- Relevant pharmaceutical experience certificates.
- Previous employment details.
- Aadhaar and PAN.
- Any licence, registration, declaration or other documents required by the applicable Drug Licensing Authority.
Important Regulatory Note
The appointment and designation of the selected candidate as Competent Person will remain subject to verification of eligibility and acceptance/approval by the applicable Drug Licensing Authority. Meeting the qualification criteria alone does not guarantee regulatory approval.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
