Role Overview
The Record-to-Report (RTR) professional is responsible for executing end-to-end financial accounting and reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, maintaining general ledger integrity, performing reconciliations, and supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. The role requires strong accounting knowledge, process compliance, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to deliver accurate financial reporting and continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
**Financial Accounting & General Ledger Management**
Prepare, review, and post journal entries including accruals, prepayments, provisions, adjustments, and recurring entries.
Maintain the accuracy and integrity of General Ledger (GL) accounts.
Manage accounting activities related to fixed assets, lease accounting, intercompany transactions, taxes, and other RTR processes.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards such as GAAP and IFRS.
**Month-End Close & Reporting**
Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities within defined timelines.
Perform trial balance reviews and financial statement preparation.
Conduct P&L and balance sheet variance analysis and provide explanations for significant movements.
Prepare customer-required reports and ad-hoc financial reports as needed.
Deliver accurate reporting outputs within agreed turnaround times and quality standards.
**Reconciliations & Controls**
Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, cash accounts, fixed assets, intercompany balances, and other balance sheet accounts.
Investigate, research, and resolve reconciling items and open balances in a timely manner.
Ensure adequate documentation and audit trails for all accounting activities.
Identify process gaps and recommend controls to mitigate risks and improve compliance.
**Audit & Compliance**
Support internal and external audit requirements by providing documentation and explanations.
Maintain compliance with internal control frameworks, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements where applicable.
Adhere to customer statements of work, organizational policies, and accounting standards.
**Stakeholder Management & Customer Interaction**
Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Operations, and other finance teams to resolve issues and support business requirements.
Communicate regularly with customers and stakeholders through emails and calls, providing updates on deliverables and issue resolution.
Provide timely status updates, including hourly and end-of-day reporting where required.
**Continuous Improvement**
Identify opportunities for process standardization, automation, and efficiency improvements.
Participate in process improvement initiatives and drive assigned projects through completion.
Contribute to knowledge sharing, documentation, and best-practice development within the team.
Required Experience
2–5 years of experience in Record-to-Report (RTR), General Ledger Accounting, or Financial Reporting.

Educational Qualifications
Minimum 15 years of regular full-time education (10+2+3).
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline.
Preferred: B.Com, M.Com, CA Inter, or equivalent finance/accounting qualification.
Technical Skills
**ERP Systems**
Working knowledge of SAP and/or JD Edwards (JDE).
**MS Office**
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
IF, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS
VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP
Pivot Tables
Cell References
Aging Analysis
Date Functions
Text-to-Columns
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

Other Requirements
Willingness to work in ANZ shifts (starting between 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM IST).
Flexibility to support extended hours during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close periods.
Mandatory 5-day work-from-office model, including one weekend during month-end close cycles.
Positive attitude and commitment to meeting business and customer requirements.
Medically fit to work in the designated shift schedule.
