Qualification MD/DNB in Radiodiagnosis from a recognized institution approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Candidates with DMRD (Diploma in Medical Radiodiagnosis) from a recognized institution may also be considered based on relevant experience and competency.
Registration Valid State Medical Council / NMC Registration (Mandatory).
Experience Minimum 2–3 years of post-qualification experience in a multispecialty hospital with expertise in Ultrasound (USG), Obstetric & Antenatal Scans, Doppler Studies, CT Scan, MRI, Mammography, and Digital X-ray reporting.
The Consultant Radiologist & Sonologist is responsible for providing comprehensive diagnostic imaging services by performing, interpreting, and reporting radiological examinations including Digital X-ray, Ultrasound (USG), Doppler Studies, CT Scan, MRI, Mammography, and Obstetric & Antenatal Ultrasound examinations. The consultant independently performs routine and specialized antenatal scans such as dating scans, NT scans, anomaly scans, growth scans, fetal biometry, fetal well-being assessments, and obstetric Doppler studies while ensuring accurate diagnosis and high-quality maternal and fetal care. The consultant collaborates with clinicians to support patient diagnosis and treatment, maintains timely reporting, ensures radiation safety, and complies with NABH standards and hospital policies.
- Perform and interpret routine and specialized Ultrasound (USG) examinations.
- Conduct obstetric and antenatal ultrasound scans, including dating scans, NT scans, anomaly scans, growth scans, fetal well-being assessments, and Doppler studies.
- Interpret and report CT Scan examinations accurately and promptly.
- Interpret and report MRI examinations with appropriate clinical correlation.
- Report Digital X-ray examinations.
- Perform abdominal, pelvic, thyroid, breast, musculoskeletal, vascular, and small parts ultrasound examinations.
- Perform colour Doppler and vascular imaging studies.
- Communicate urgent and critical findings immediately to the treating consultant.
- Ensure proper patient identification and imaging protocols before every procedure.
- Supervise radiographers and sonographers during imaging procedures.
- Maintain accurate reporting in RIS, PACS, and HIS systems.
- Ensure radiation protection measures are followed by patients and staff.
- Obtain informed consent for contrast-enhanced and invasive imaging procedures whenever required.
- Participate in emergency imaging services and on-call duties as per roster.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary clinical discussions.
- Ensure compliance with NABH standards and hospital policies.
