A Welder is responsible for joining metal parts using welding equipment and techniques while ensuring the strength, quality, and safety of fabricated or repaired components.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
- Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, cutting, and grinding.
- Perform welding using processes such as MIG, TIG, ARC/SMAW, or Gas Welding.
- Inspect welded joints for quality and structural integrity.
- Operate and maintain welding tools and equipment.
- Follow welding procedures, specifications, and safety standards.
- Repair damaged metal components and structures.
- Measure and align workpieces using appropriate tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Report equipment faults and assist in preventive maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- ITI/Diploma or equivalent qualification in Welding/Fabrication.
- Relevant welding certification (preferred).
- 1–5 years of welding experience (depending on the role).
Required Skills
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, ARC, or Gas Welding.
- Ability to read technical drawings and welding symbols.
- Knowledge of metal properties and fabrication techniques.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments and hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Good physical stamina and hand-eye coordination.
- Awareness of workplace safety and PPE requirements.
Working Conditions
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
