Job Summary
The Civil Construction Supervisor will be responsible for supervising daily construction activities, coordinating site teams, ensuring adherence to project schedules, maintaining quality standards, and enforcing safety regulations. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and hands-on experience in managing construction sites.
Key ResponsibilitiesSite Supervision & Project Execution
- Supervise daily construction activities and ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project timelines.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, subcontractors, vendors, and site workers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor project progress and resolve on-site issues to avoid delays.
Project Planning & Resource Management
- Assist in project planning, material estimation, and scheduling of construction activities.
- Ensure timely availability of manpower, equipment, and construction materials.
- Monitor material usage and minimize wastage to optimize project costs.
Quality Control
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure construction quality complies with engineering standards and project specifications.
- Verify that all work meets approved drawings, technical requirements, and company quality standards.
- Identify defects and ensure timely corrective actions.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks for site workers.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a safe working environment.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily site reports, work progress records, labour attendance, and material consumption reports.
- Report project progress, challenges, and resource requirements to the Project Manager.
- Assist in preparing project completion reports and documentation.
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and government authorities when required.
- Attend site meetings and provide regular updates on project milestones.
- Ensure effective communication among all project stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in civil construction site supervision.
- Experience in residential, commercial, or infrastructure construction projects is preferred.
Required SkillsTechnical Skills
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and engineering practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and structural plans.
- Knowledge of quantity estimation and material planning.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera, or similar project management software is an added advantage.
- Good knowledge of building codes, construction safety standards, and quality control procedures.
