Job Overview
IVY World School is looking for a disciplined, responsible, and experienced Mess Manager to oversee the smooth and efficient functioning of the school mess and dining operations. The candidate will be responsible for managing food services, staff, hygiene, inventory, discipline, and overall mess administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the school mess.
- Ensure timely and smooth serving of meals to students and staff.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
- Supervise mess staff, kitchen helpers, and other support staff.
- Ensure proper discipline, punctuality, and professional conduct among the mess team.
- Coordinate with the kitchen team regarding meal schedules and food requirements.
- Monitor the quality and quantity of food being served.
- Manage inventory and ensure the timely availability of groceries and other mess supplies.
- Monitor wastage and implement effective cost-control measures.
- Maintain records related to stock, consumption, and daily mess operations.
- Handle complaints and feedback related to mess services and take corrective action.
- Coordinate with the School Administration and management for smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with school SOPs and hygiene standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Graduate preferred; relevant experience will also be considered.
- Minimum 4–8 years of experience in mess management, catering, hospitality, defence establishments, hostels, boarding schools, or similar operations.
- Candidates with an Army/Defence background will be given preference.
- Strong leadership, discipline, and team-management skills.
- Good knowledge of hygiene, food service, inventory, and staff management.
- Ability to handle large-scale meal operations efficiently.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
Salary
₹30,000–₹35,000 per month, depending on experience and suitability.
