Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Engineer / Sr. Engineer – VMC with hands-on experience in Vertical Machining Centers (VMC), CNC machining operations, process optimization, and production management. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth machining operations, maintaining quality standards, reducing cycle time, and improving productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and supervise VMC machining operations for production components.
- Set up machines, tooling, fixtures, and ensure proper machine calibration.
- Monitor machining parameters and optimize cycle time for higher productivity.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and process sheets accurately.
- Ensure quality compliance through in-process inspection and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives for productivity and cost reduction.
- Maintain production reports, rejection analysis, and machine utilization data.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and 5S practices on the shop floor.
- Support new product development and process trials as required.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of VMC machining processes and tooling.
- Hands-on experience with Fanuc/Siemens controllers preferred.
- Understanding of CNC programming basics and process optimization.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments and quality systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot machining and tooling-related issues.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and team coordination skills.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience
- 3–8 Years of experience in VMC machining and manufacturing operations.
