Job Description: Deputy Manager – QA/QC (FMCG)Job Summary
The Deputy Manager – Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) is responsible for overseeing quality management systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements, and maintaining product quality throughout the manufacturing process. The role requires expertise in food safety standards, quality systems, regulatory compliance, and a strong understanding of USFDA requirements applicable to FMCG products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage QA/QC operations across incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) in accordance with GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000/FSSC 22000, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with USFDA regulations and other domestic and international food safety standards.
- Conduct internal audits, supplier audits, and support external regulatory and customer audits.
- Investigate quality complaints, non-conformances, deviations, and implement effective CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions).
- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality specifications and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Review and approve quality documentation, batch records, specifications, validation reports, and certificates of analysis.
- Coordinate laboratory testing, calibration, environmental monitoring, and product release activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, food safety, and operational efficiency.
- Provide training to production and quality teams on GMP, hygiene, quality standards, food safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor quality KPIs and prepare periodic reports for management.
- Collaborate with Production, R&D, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to ensure consistent product quality and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
- 6–10 years of experience in QA/QC within the FMCG or food manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of USFDA regulations, GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000/ISO 22000, and food safety management systems.
- Experience in handling regulatory inspections and customer audits.
- Knowledge of validation, verification, risk assessment, documentation control, and quality assurance practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with CAPA, root cause analysis, change control, and deviation management.
- Familiarity with laboratory quality systems and analytical testing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/QMS software.
- Strong documentation, report-writing, and audit management skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Pay: Up to ₹2,400,000.00 per year
