1. Job purpose:
The Field Chemist will be responsible for conducting environmental monitoring, maintaining lab equipment, and performing various laboratory tasks such as thimble and filter paper weight analysis.
2. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Environmental Monitoring:
Perform environmental monitoring at various locations, collecting air, water, soil, stack, noise and hazardious waste samples as required.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of environmental field data.
Follow safety guidelines and regulatory requirements while conducting all monitoring tasks.
Equipment Check and Maintenance:
Conduct regular checks on field equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Perform basic maintenance tasks and keep detailed records of maintenance activities of field instruments
Report to senior for any field equipment issues and coordinate repairs or calibration as needed.
Lab Work (Thimble and Filter Paper Weight):
Perform specific lab tasks such as measuring thimble weight and filter paper weight for analysis.
Ensure accurate field documentation of all measurements and findings as per NABL (ISO/IEC 17025/2017 guidelines)
Assist in sample preparation and testing for lab analysis.
Media Preparation:
Prepare media solutions for laboratory testing in accordance with lab protocols.
Ensure proper handling and storage of media to maintain quality standards.
Conduct on-site preparation and sampling as required.
Planning and Document Preparation:
Assist in the preparation of environmental and laboratory plans as per project requirements.
Maintain detailed documentation of the field including preparation of reports and logbook.
Collaborate with senior staff in planning and executing monitoring activities.
Onshore Preparation:
Participate in onshore activities, ensuring all necessary preparations for environmental sampling are completed.
Quality Control and Assurance:
Ensure all laboratory and field samples are handled according to quality assurance procedures.
Assist in implementing quality control measures to maintain the integrity of the environmental field.
Calibration and Instrumentation:
Work with lab staff to ensure that all instruments used for field and lab work are properly calibrated.
Maintain records of instrument calibration, troubleshooting, and adjustments.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Follow all health and safety protocols in the lab and during field activities.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and ensure proper waste disposal.
Report any hazards or incidents to senior management promptly.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed and accurate records of fieldwork, laboratory tests, and equipment maintenance.
Prepare and submit reports on environmental monitoring and lab activities promptly.
Reporting & Support:
Keep an updated Excel sheet to track and manage day-to-day activities efficiently.
Fill in for absent team members as needed to ensure continuity of operations.
Report progress and updates to the immediate superior regularly.
Undertake any other tasks or assignments as directed by top management.
Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
