We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented “Manager Business Development(Government and Defence vertical)” to drive business growth through Government Departments, PSUs, Defense organizations, Police, Railways, Smart City projects and other institutional customers.
The incumbent will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with key decision-makers, tracking government tenders and RFPs, managing the complete sales cycle, and achieving assigned revenue and business development targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Government Business Development
- Identify and develop new business opportunities with Central/State Government Departments, PSUs, Defense, Police, Railways, Smart City, Government Agencies and large System Integrators.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with government officials, consultants, decision-makers, procurement teams and key stakeholders.
- Generate leads and build a healthy pipeline of government and institutional projects.
- Understand customer requirements and propose suitable technology and system integration solutions.
- Conduct regular customer meetings, presentations, product demonstrations and technical discussions.
2. Tender & RFP Management
- Identify relevant Government Tenders, RFPs, RFQs, EOI and GeM opportunities aligned with the company's capabilities.
- Study tender documents, eligibility criteria, technical specifications, BOQ, commercial requirements and contractual conditions.
- Coordinate with the Presales, Technical, Projects, Procurement, Finance and Legal teams for bid preparation.
- Prepare and coordinate technical and commercial proposals in accordance with tender requirements.
- Track tender timelines, pre-bid meetings, corrigenda, bid submissions, technical evaluations and commercial openings.
- Coordinate for EMD, PBG, tender fees and other required documentation.
3. Sales & Revenue Generation
- Develop account-wise and customer-wise sales strategies.
- Convert leads into business opportunities and orders.
- Maintain regular follow-up with prospective customers and decision-makers.
- Negotiate commercial terms within the approved organizational framework.
- Ensure timely closure of opportunities and maintain accurate sales forecasts.
· Work closely with product management and engineering teams to stay current on product features and updates.
· Develop and present comprehensive proposals, including detailed network diagrams, cost estimates and implementation timelines.
5. Key Account Management
- Develop long-term relationships with existing government and institutional customers.
- Maintain regular communication with key accounts and ensure high customer satisfaction..
Required Qualifications
- BTech /BCA/BSc.IT /MCA
- MBA in Sales/Marketing/Business Development will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Government Sales IT industry
Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
