Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Production Manager from the Fabrication Industry to lead and manage all fabrication and production operations. The ideal candidate should have expertise in stainless steel fabrication, production planning, welding processes, shop floor management, manpower handling, and quality compliance. The role requires driving operational excellence, ensuring timely deliveries, and continuously improving productivity while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Execution
- Plan, organize, and monitor daily production activities to meet production schedules and customer commitments.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.
- Monitor production targets and ensure timely completion of fabrication jobs.
- Coordinate with Planning, Design, Purchase, Quality, and Stores departments for smooth production flow.
Fabrication Operations
- Supervise fabrication processes including:
- SS Sheet Metal Fabrication
- TIG, MIG, and Arc Welding
- Laser Cutting
- CNC Bending
- Grinding & Polishing
- Assembly of pharmaceutical process equipment
- Ensure fabrication activities comply with approved engineering drawings and quality standards.
- Monitor welding quality, dimensional accuracy, and finishing.
Team Management
- Lead and supervise production supervisors, engineers, welders, fitters, and fabrication technicians.
- Allocate manpower efficiently across production lines.
- Conduct regular training programs to improve productivity, quality, and safety.
- Drive employee engagement and performance improvement.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with GMP requirements where applicable.
- Work closely with the Quality team to minimize rework and rejection.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for production-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with ISO quality systems and company SOPs.
Continuous Improvement
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Reduce cycle time, material wastage, and production costs.
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and shop floor efficiency.
Safety & Maintenance
- Ensure adherence to EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards.
- Promote a zero-accident culture across the shop floor.
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance with the Maintenance Department.
Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Monitor key production KPIs and present performance reports to management.
- Analyze bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
Experience
- 10–15 years of experience in the fabrication/manufacturing industry.
- Minimum 5 years in a Production Manager or Senior Production leadership role.
- Experience in Stainless Steel Fabrication and Pharmaceutical Equipment Manufacturing will be preferred.
