Senior Lab Technician – Pune
Orange Health Labs is hiring an experienced Senior Lab Technician for our diagnostic laboratory operations in Pune.
This role is ideal for a laboratory professional with hands-on experience in Biochemistry, Hematology, Clinical Pathology and Serology. You will be responsible for accurate sample processing, laboratory testing, analyzer handling, quality checks and timely completion of diagnostic reports.

Key Responsibilities
- Process and test clinical samples such as blood, serum, plasma, urine and other specimens as per laboratory SOPs.
- Perform diagnostic tests in Biochemistry, Hematology, Clinical Pathology and Serology based on assigned bench responsibilities.
- Operate automated analyzers and perform manual laboratory procedures accurately.
- Carry out sample preparation, testing, result verification and documentation.
- Review test results and flag critical, abnormal or inconsistent findings for appropriate action.
- Perform daily equipment checks, calibration, reagent verification and basic troubleshooting of laboratory instruments.
- Run and monitor internal Quality Control (QC) and take corrective action when results fall outside acceptable limits.
- Maintain proper records of test runs, QC results, equipment maintenance, samples and other laboratory activities.
- Ensure correct sample identification, labeling, storage and disposal throughout the testing process.
- Monitor pending samples and coordinate with the team to achieve defined Turnaround Time (TAT).
- Follow laboratory SOPs, safety procedures, infection-control practices and quality standards.
- Support smooth functioning of the laboratory during assigned shifts.
- Assist in training and guiding junior laboratory technicians on testing procedures, equipment handling and SOP compliance.
- Escalate technical issues, sample-related concerns and equipment problems to the appropriate team member.
- Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives and process standardization activities.
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc MLT / BMLT / Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience in a diagnostic laboratory, preferably in a senior technician or equivalent role.
- Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Biochemistry
- Hematology
- Clinical Pathology
- Serology
- Strong practical knowledge of automated laboratory analyzers and manual testing techniques.
- Experience with sample processing, result validation and laboratory documentation.
- Good understanding of Quality Control (QC), calibration, troubleshooting and laboratory safety.
- Ability to work with accuracy in a fast-paced, high-volume diagnostic environment.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Comfortable working independently as well as with a laboratory team.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts and rotational weekly offs.
