Overview
We are looking for an experienced Analytics Engineer / Senior Data Engineer (4+ years) to build and maintain scalable analytics and data engineering solutions. The role focuses on dbt, SQL, dimensional modeling, cloud data warehousing, and analytics engineering, while also supporting enterprise data pipelines, big data platforms, and data governance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain analytics transformation pipelines using dbt, SQL, and Jinja.
- Build scalable dimensional models, data marts, and semantic layers for BI and reporting.
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Spark, Hive, Kafka, and dbt.
- Collaborate with Product, Analytics, BI, and Data Science teams to translate business requirements into trusted data assets.
- Implement data quality, testing, governance, and metadata management practices.
- Support data cataloging and lineage using Informatica EDC and related governance tools.
- Optimize analytical workloads through query tuning, partitioning, and performance optimization.
- Apply software engineering best practices including Git, CI/CD, code reviews, and Agile development.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or related roles.
- Strong expertise in dbt (models, macros, packages, testing, deployment).
- Advanced SQL and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with Snowflake, Redshift, or similar cloud data platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Python and Spark (PySpark).
- Knowledge of dimensional modeling, analytics architecture, and semantic layer design.
- Experience with Kafka, Hive, Hadoop/Cloudera, and big data ecosystems.
- Familiarity with Informatica EDC, metadata management, data lineage, and data governance.
- Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and data formats such as JSON, XML, and CSV.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Sports, Media, Digital Marketing, or Consumer Analytics domains.
- Exposure to Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Experience working with clickstream, event, audience, or behavioral datasets.
- Relevant certifications in AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Cloudera, or Big Data technologies.
