Job Summary
The Senior Manager – Hypermart is responsible for leading the overall operations of the hypermarket, ensuring profitability, delivering an excellent customer experience, managing employees, maintaining inventory, and achieving sales targets. The role involves strategic planning, operational excellence, and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day hypermarket operations.
- Ensure smooth functioning of all departments.
- Implement and monitor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain store cleanliness, safety, and visual merchandising standards.
Sales & Profitability
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
- Monitor revenue, expenses, and store profitability (P&L).
- Analyze sales reports and implement strategies to improve performance.
- Plan promotional activities and seasonal campaigns.
Inventory & Stock Control
- Ensure optimum stock availability.
- Minimize shrinkage, wastage, and stock loss.
- Conduct regular inventory audits.
- Coordinate with the purchase and warehouse teams.
Customer Service
- Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Resolve customer complaints promptly.
- Maintain high service standards across all departments.
Team Leadership
- Lead, train, and motivate department managers and employees.
- Monitor staff performance and productivity.
- Prepare duty rosters and manpower planning.
- Support employee engagement and development.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
- Maintain health, hygiene, and workplace safety standards.
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
Reporting & Administration
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.
- Monitor KPIs and operational performance.
- Coordinate with HR, Finance, Purchase, and Supply Chain departments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Commerce, or a related field.
- MBA preferred.
- 8–15 years of experience in retail, supermarket, or hypermarket operations.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a managerial or senior managerial role.
