Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and result-driven Area Sales Manager to lead and expand our business in the Ahmedabad region. The incumbent will be responsible for managing existing customer accounts, developing new business opportunities, achieving sales targets, and driving market penetration within the assigned territory.
The role also involves leading, mentoring, and monitoring a team of Sales Officers to ensure effective territory coverage, customer engagement, and achievement of business objectives. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership abilities, strategic sales planning skills, and a proven track record in B2B sales.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Drive sales growth and achieve revenue targets within the assigned territory.
- Manage and expand business with existing customers while identifying and acquiring new customers.
- Develop and implement territory-wise sales strategies to maximize market share and business growth.
- Identify new market opportunities and customer segments to expand the company's presence.
- Conduct regular customer visits to strengthen relationships and understand customer requirements.
- Promote the company's product portfolio and introduce new products to customers.
- Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and customer buying patterns.
Team Management
- Lead, guide, and motivate a team of Sales Officers to achieve individual and team sales targets.
- Set performance objectives and conduct regular reviews with team members.
- Provide coaching, training, and field support to enhance the team's sales effectiveness.
- Monitor territory coverage plans and ensure effective customer engagement by the team.
- Assist in resolving customer issues and support the team in closing key business opportunities.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build long-term relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and timely issue resolution.
- Coordinate with internal departments such as Customer Service, Logistics, Finance, and Technical Teams to ensure seamless customer support.
Reporting & Planning
- Prepare sales forecasts, monthly business reports, and market intelligence reports.
- Track sales performance against targets and take corrective actions where required.
- Maintain accurate customer and sales records through CRM systems and company reporting tools.
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related field.
Experience
- 6-10 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or territory management.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in leading and managing a sales team.
- Experience in the chemical, laboratory reagents, pharmaceutical, biotech, research, or industrial sectors will be preferred.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
