Job Summary
We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Lab Assistant to support the smooth functioning of the school laboratory. The candidate will assist teachers and students during practical sessions, maintain laboratory equipment and materials, and ensure that the lab is clean, organized, and safe.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in setting up and conducting practical experiments and laboratory activities.
- Prepare and arrange chemicals, specimens, apparatus, and other materials required for practical sessions.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and chemicals.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of the laboratory.
- Monitor laboratory stock and maintain records of chemicals, equipment, and consumables.
- Inform the concerned teacher/HOD about damaged, missing, or expired materials.
- Ensure all laboratory equipment is in working condition and coordinate for repairs when required.
- Support students during practical activities while ensuring adherence to laboratory safety procedures.
- Follow proper safety and emergency protocols while handling chemicals and equipment.
- Maintain laboratory registers, inventory records, and other required documentation.
- Assist in setting up laboratories for examinations, demonstrations, projects, and school events.
- Ensure proper disposal of laboratory waste as per safety guidelines.
- Support the Science Department in other academic and laboratory-related activities as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Qualification: B.Sc. in Physics / Chemistry / Biology or a relevant Science discipline preferred.
- Prior experience as a Lab Assistant in a school, college, or educational institution will be an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment, chemicals, and safety procedures.
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work effectively with teachers and students.
- Responsible, attentive, and safety-conscious approach.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
