Role
To independently supervise and coordinate the complete telecom project from material procurement and inspection through installation, testing, commissioning and final handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise complete telecom work as per approved specifications, drawings and BOQ.
- Coordinate with client representatives, inspection agencies, vendors, subcontractors and site teams.
- Supervise:
- OFC route and HDPE/DWC pipe laying
- OFC blowing, jointing, splicing and OTDR testing
- Cable laying and termination
- CT boxes, FDMS/LIU and joint closures
- Routers, Ethernet switches and media converters
- E1/G.703 systems
- PDDI/PDH multiplexers
- UPS, SPD and earthing systems
- Lightning protection
- Telephone/FCT systems
- Racks and CAT-6 networking
- Ensure all materials comply with approved specifications and arrange inspection/approval.
- Prepare and maintain test reports, OTDR reports, inspection records, measurement sheets and commissioning documents.
- Supervise testing and commissioning of all equipment and links.
- Check quality and quantity of work executed by subcontractors.
- Maintain daily progress reports and site records.
- Prepare measurements and assist in preparation of running bills.
- Identify technical/site issues and coordinate their resolution.
- Ensure timely completion of the project.
Qualification
Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Telecommunications, IT or equivalent.
Experience
5–10 years relevant experience, preferably in telecom/OFC/networking projects.
Experience in the following will be preferred:
- OFC projects
- E1/G.703 telecom systems
- LAN/WAN networking
- PDH/SDH/PDDI systems
- Cable and duct laying
- Telecom equipment installation and commissioning
- Inspection and testing procedures
- Measurement and billing
Technical Skills
- OFC blowing, splicing and testing
- OTDR and optical power-meter testing
- E1/G.703 systems
- Routers and managed Ethernet switches
- VLAN, IP addressing and basic routing
- PDDI/PDH multiplexers
- Media converters
- UPS, SPD and earthing
- Basic AutoCAD/drawing interpretation
- BOQ, measurement and billing
- MS Excel and documentation
Preferred Candidate
A hands-on Telecom Project Engineer capable of managing the complete site execution from:
HDPE/DWC laying → OFC blowing → splicing/testing → E1/G.703 → networking equipment → PDDI → power/earthing → commissioning → inspection → final handover.
The candidate should be capable of independently managing manpower, subcontractors, materials, testing, documentation and day-to-day site execution.
Candidates with only general IT/networking experience and no field telecom execution experience will not be preferred.
Pay: ₹8,086.00 - ₹42,776.16 per month
