Job Description
We are looking for a Mechanical QA Intern to support the Quality Assurance team in inspection, testing, documentation, and quality control of mechanical components, assemblies, and fabricated products.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the QA team in inspection and quality checks of mechanical components and assemblies.
- Perform dimensional inspection using measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, and Measuring Tape.
- Assist in checking components as per engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Support incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities.
- Identify and report quality defects, deviations, and non-conformities.
- Assist in preparing inspection reports, quality checklists, and other QA documentation.
- Support the team in maintaining NCR (Non-Conformance Report) and corrective action records.
- Coordinate with the production/fabrication team regarding quality-related issues.
- Assist in welding, fabrication, assembly, and material quality inspections.
- Maintain inspection records and quality documentation.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions under the guidance of senior QA engineers.
- Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and safety requirements.
- Perform other quality-related activities assigned by the reporting manager.
Skills Required
- Basic knowledge of Mechanical Engineering and Quality Control.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Basic knowledge of dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T.
- Knowledge of basic measuring instruments.
- Good observation and analytical skills.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and work in a manufacturing/fabrication environment.
Qualification
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience
Freshers / 0–1 Year
Candidates with academic projects or prior industrial training in quality, manufacturing, fabrication, or mechanical inspection will be preferred.
