Quality Inspector – Cocopeat Manufacturing
Job Overview
M2Balu Export. is looking for a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to ensure our cocopeat products meet customer specifications and international export quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting raw materials, monitoring production quality, conducting laboratory tests, and ensuring that every shipment complies with company and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming raw materials and finished products.
- Conduct quality checks during different stages of production.
- Perform laboratory tests including moisture, EC, pH, expansion, fibre content, and impurity analysis.
- Ensure products meet customer specifications before dispatch.
- Prepare quality inspection reports and maintain accurate records.
- Identify quality issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with the Production Manager to resolve quality concerns.
- Monitor adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Assist in handling customer complaints and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain cleanliness and calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.
- Ensure compliance with company quality policies and export standards.
Additional Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quality inspections at supplier manufacturing facilities to ensure raw materials and finished products meet M2B's quality standards.
- Audit supplier production processes, drying methods, storage practices, and quality control procedures.
- Collect and evaluate samples from supplier factories for laboratory testing.
- Verify product specifications, including moisture, EC, pH, expansion, fibre content, sand content, and impurities.
- Prepare supplier inspection reports with photographs, observations, and recommendations.
- Identify quality deviations and work with suppliers to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Approve or reject materials based on M2B's quality requirements.
- Coordinate with the Purchase and Production teams regarding supplier performance and material quality.
- Maintain records of supplier audits, inspection reports, and quality trends.
- Travel regularly to supplier factories within Tamil Nadu and nearby regions for inspections and audits.
Additional Requirements
- Must be willing to travel frequently to supplier factories.
- Valid two-wheeler driving licence is preferred.
- Experience in supplier quality inspection or vendor quality assurance will be an added advantage.
- Strong reporting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Quality Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing quality inspection.
- Experience in the cocopeat, coir, agriculture, or export industry is preferred.
