ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
The Accountant is responsible for supporting the GEO Accounting teams in the delivery of core accounting, reporting, and analytical activities. The role provides flexible support across multiple GEOs, helping Team Leaders manage workload peaks and ensuring timely completion of key finance processes.
The position will act as a shared resource across GEO teams, focusing on common activities and cross-GEO initiatives such as payroll forecasting, balance sheet reconciliations, reporting support, process standardization, and other general accounting responsibilities. The Accountant will work closely with Team Leaders and other finance stakeholders to ensure high-quality service delivery and compliance with internal policies and controls.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Prepare and reconcile monthly balance sheet and suspense accounts and ensure accounts are supported with appropriate documentation and justifiable balances.
- Support Team Leaders across GEOs with the preparation and review of account reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, and follow-up of aged or outstanding items.
- Assist in the preparation of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting activities, including the delivery of explanations for significant balances and movements.
- Support payroll forecasting activities, including data gathering, analysis, reporting, and coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Perform financial data analysis and contribute to the interpretation of financial and operational results.
- Assist in the preparation of financial ratios, trend analysis, and maintenance of historical reporting records.
- Prepare information required for internal and external audits as directed.
- Ensure all activities are completed in compliance with Group Accounting Policies, Internal Control requirements, and Business Process Blueprints.
- Support standardization and harmonization initiatives across GEOs and contribute to cross-functional projects.
- Deliver customer service in line with agreed Service Level Agreements and stakeholder expectations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and support implementation of efficiency initiatives.
- Provide operational support to Team Leaders during periods of increased workload, absences, or special projects.
- Collaborate effectively across GEO teams to ensure consistency of accounting treatment, reporting quality, and process execution.
Qualifications:
ABOUT YOUR SKILLS
This role is designed as a flexible accounting resource supporting multiple GEO Accounting teams.The position provides additional capacity for Team Leaders by taking ownership of common accounting and reporting activities, driving consistency across GEOs, and supporting workload management during periods of transformation, special projects, and business change.
2–3 years of experience in an accounting, reporting, or finance environment, preferably within a medium to large international organization.- Experience in account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities.
- Experience in payroll-related accounting or forecasting activities is an advantage.
- Previous audit experience is considered an advantage.
- Experience working in a shared services, multinational, or matrix environment is desirable.
- University Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
