Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly detail-oriented Senior Software Tester with approximately 5 years of professional experience in software testing and quality assurance.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, functionality, reliability, and performance of software applications through comprehensive testing activities. The role requires strong knowledge of Manual Testing, SDLC, STLC, test case design, defect management, regression testing, and Agile methodologies.
The successful candidate will work closely with developers, business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to identify issues, improve product quality, and ensure successful software releases.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform end-to-end testing of web, mobile, and software applications.
- Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.
- Prepare and execute detailed test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts.
- Perform Functional, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, Integration, System, and Exploratory Testing.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects.
- Manage defects through the complete Bug Life Cycle.
- Perform retesting and regression testing after defect fixes.
- Work closely with developers to reproduce, analyze, and resolve software defects.
- Participate in requirement analysis and review meetings.
- Identify gaps, ambiguities, and potential risks in requirements before development/testing.
- Ensure adequate test coverage for new features, enhancements, and releases.
- Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing where required.
- Maintain accurate test documentation, reports, and QA records.
- Track testing progress and provide regular status updates to the QA Lead/Project Manager.
- Support release testing and production validation.
- Identify recurring defects and recommend improvements to development and QA processes.
- Assist in maintaining QA standards, testing processes, and best practices.
- Guide and support junior testers when required.
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of quality software.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5 years of professional experience in software testing/quality assurance.
- Strong hands-on experience in manual software testing.
- Excellent understanding of SDLC and STLC.
- Strong knowledge of test case preparation and test execution.
- Good understanding of bug life cycle and defect management.
- Experience with Jira or similar defect/project tracking tools.
- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to independently manage assigned testing activities.
- Ability to work effectively under project deadlines.
Preferred Skills:-
- Basic knowledge of API testing using Postman.
- Basic knowledge of SQL/database testing.
- Experience in testing web and mobile applications.
- Knowledge of browser compatibility and responsive testing.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments.
- Experience mentoring or guiding junior QA team members.
