Job Summary
The NICU Incharge is responsible for the overall clinical, administrative, and operational management of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The role ensures the delivery of safe, evidence-based, and family-centered care for critically ill and premature newborns while supervising nursing staff, maintaining quality standards, ensuring infection prevention, and coordinating multidisciplinary care.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all nursing activities in the NICU.
- Ensure comprehensive nursing care for critically ill and premature neonates.
- Monitor high-risk newborns requiring ventilator support, CPAP, oxygen therapy, phototherapy, and specialized neonatal care.
- Assist neonatologists during emergency procedures and resuscitation.
- Ensure timely medication administration and nursing interventions.
- Monitor and document patient progress accurately.
- Ensure compliance with neonatal care protocols and clinical guidelines.
- Supervise NICU Staff Nurses and support staff.
- Evaluate staff performance and competency.
- Identify training and development needs.
- Ensure proper functioning of neonatal ventilators, CPAP machines, incubators, radiant warmers, infusion pumps, syringe pumps, phototherapy units, and monitors.
- Verify crash cart readiness.
- Maintain adequate stock of neonatal medicines and consumables.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance with the Biomedical Engineering department.
- Report equipment malfunctions promptly.
Pay: From ₹30,000.00 per hour
