Job Requirements
Job Purpose
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products, processes, and systems meet defined quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory/ISO norms. The role focuses on defect prevention, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Control
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control plans, inspection procedures, and SOPs.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / customer-specific standards.
- Conduct Pre Dispatch Inspection, Receipt inspection, in-process, and final inspections as per defined criteria.
- Monitor product quality performance and report KPIs (Rejection rate, COPQ).
- New Product Testing and Evaluations to be conducted and reports to be shared to respective stake holders within the TAT.
Process & Product Improvement
- Perform Root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto.
- Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for internal and customer issues.
- Support process validation, capability studies (Cp, Cpk), and improvement initiatives.
- Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement projects.
Supplier & Customer Quality
- Conduct supplier quality audits , Quality Vendor Ratings and evaluations.
- Handle Return Customer complaints, prepare CAPA reports, and ensure timely closure.
- Coordinate with Product Team , Vendors / suppliers and procurement to resolve quality issues.
Audits & Compliance
- Plan and support internal, external, and customer audits.
- Ensure documentation control, traceability, and record maintenance.
- Support management review meetings with quality metrics and analysis.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, SOPs, control plans, test records.
- Analyse quality data and present reports to management.
- Ensure proper calibration and validation of measuring equipment.
Work Experience
Education
- Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Manufacturing ).
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in a Quality Engineering role (In optical manufacturing preferred).
- Experience in ISO-based quality systems is mandatory.
Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 ,ISO 13485 .
- Proficiency in quality tools: SPC, MSA, FMEA, Control Plans, 8D.
- Hands-on experience with inspection tools & testing methods.
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensions & Tolerances and engineering drawings (where applicable).
