A PGT English Teacher is responsible for teaching English language and literature to senior secondary students. The role focuses on developing advanced reading, writing, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English literature, grammar, and composition as per the prescribed curriculum
- Guide students in analyzing prose, poetry, and drama
- Develop lesson plans that encourage critical thinking and discussion
- Prepare students for board examinations and competitive exams
- Assign and evaluate essays, projects, and presentations
- Improve students’ speaking, writing, and comprehension skills
- Encourage reading habits and literary appreciation
- Maintain classroom discipline and a positive learning environment

- Strong command of the English language and literature

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in English (M.A. in English)
- B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) is typically required
