Summary:
A seasoned Windows Administrator with deep expertise in enterprise Windows environments, AWS cloud infrastructure, and automation. The candidate should hold Windows certifications, demonstrate strong AWS exposure (certification preferred), and possess proficiency in scripting tools to improve operational efficiency.
Roles & Responsibilities:
L2/L3 Operations Leadership
Perform deep-dive RCA for major incidents and present findings to management with actionable preventive measures
Drive change advisory board (CAB) submissions and execute critical infrastructure changes
Define and improve escalation procedures, SLA frameworks, and operational runbooks
Advanced Infrastructure & Hybrid Cloud
Lead Windows Server lifecycle management including OS upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning
Administer and optimize AWS services supporting Windows workloads: EC2 (Windows AMIs), RDS (SQL Server), FSx for Windows, AWS Directory Service, Route 53, IAM
Well versed with hybrid cloud connectivity between on-premises Windows environments and AWS (Direct Connect, VPN, AWS SSO)
Well versed with virtualization platform concepts (VMware vSphere advanced, Hyper-V clusters)
Automation & Scripting
Maintain and execute PowerShell scripts for bulk operations, automated provisioning, and health reporting
Proficient with automation workflows using Ansible, AWS Systems Manager (SSM), or equivalent tools
Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for AWS Windows workloads using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
Automate patch compliance reporting and remediation workflows using SCCM/MECM or AWS Patch Manager
Create custom monitoring dashboards and automated alerting using CloudWatch or SCOM
Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual toil across L2 operations
Security & Compliance
Implement advanced security hardening and maintain CIS/DISA STIG compliance across Windows server fleet
Lead vulnerability management and coordinate remediation with security teams
Conduct security reviews for infrastructure changes and cloud deployments
Implement and manage Microsoft Defender for Servers across hybrid environments
Mentorship & Architecture Contribution
Mentor Junior engineers through technical coaching and knowledge sessions
Contribute to infrastructure reviews and provide technical recommendations
Lead internal training initiatives on Windows administration and AWS best practices
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all managed systems

Required Certifications
Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800 & AZ-801) – REQUIRED

Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server Administration.
- Experience in managing and troubleshooting complex server environments.
- Strong knowledge of system monitoring and incident management processes.
- Ability to create and maintain detailed technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
- Skilled in coordinating with multiple stakeholders including vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Microsoft Windows Server Administration.
- This position is based at our Pune office.
