Job Summary
The Clinical Assistant / RMO is responsible for providing continuous medical care to admitted patients, supporting consultants in diagnosis and treatment, and handling emergencies. The role ensures timely clinical decisions, patient monitoring, and adherence to hospital protocols across departments.
Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Clinical Management
- Examine patients, take detailed case history, and perform clinical assessments
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans in consultation with senior doctors
- Handle admissions, rounds, and discharge summaries
- Ensure continuity of care across shifts
Emergency & Critical Care
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and stabilize patients
- Provide basic and advanced life support (BLS/ACLS protocols)
- Coordinate ICU transfers and critical care management
Coordination with Consultants
- Assist consultants during rounds, procedures, and surgeries
- Communicate patient updates and clinical findings accurately
- Ensure execution of prescribed treatment plans
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate patient records, case sheets, and progress notes
- Prepare discharge summaries and medical reports
- Ensure compliance with NABH standards and medico-legal requirements
Patient & Attendant Interaction
- Explain diagnosis, treatment plans, and procedures to patients/attendants
- Handle queries and provide reassurance professionally
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ethical standards
Required Qualifications
- BAMS/BHMS/MBBS from a recognized institution
- Valid registration with State Medical Council
Experience
- 0–3 years (Freshers can be considered for junior RMO roles)
- Experience in hospital/IPD setup preferred
Skills Required
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
- Emergency handling and decision-making ability
- Good communication and patient management
- Ability to work in rotational shifts
- Basic computer knowledge (EMR/HIS systems)
Preferred Profile
- ICU / Emergency / Critical care exposure
- ACLS / BLS certification
- Experience in multispecialty or NABH-accredited hospitals
