Job Summary
We are looking for passionate and disciplined Commis Chefs (I/II/III) to join our kitchen team in R. S. Puram, Coimbatore. The role involves assisting in the preparation and presentation of high-quality vegetarian dishes across multiple cuisines including Indian, Continental, Chinese, and Bakery products. The ideal candidate should be eager to learn, maintain hygiene standards, and perform efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation and cooking as per standard recipes and instructions from senior chefs
- Ensure proper mise en place for smooth kitchen operations
- Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning
- Follow instructions from CDP / Sous Chef / Head Chef
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene as per FSSAI standards
- Handle kitchen equipment safely and responsibly
- Assist in bakery production (basic breads, cakes, pastries, desserts)
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients using FIFO method
- Reduce wastage and support cost control measures
- Work collaboratively during peak service hours
Role Classification
Commis III (Entry Level)
- Basic kitchen knowledge
- Assists in prep work (cutting, cleaning, basic cooking)
- 0–1 year experience / freshers can apply
Commis II (Intermediate Level)
- Handles a section with supervision
- Basic knowledge of multi-cuisine & bakery
- 1–3 years experience
Commis I (Advanced Level)
- Independently manages a section
- Strong knowledge of multi-cuisine cooking & basic bakery
- Can guide junior staff
- 2–5 years experience
Requirements
- Experience in a Pure Vegetarian Kitchen preferred
- Knowledge of Indian, Chinese, Continental & Bakery
- Understanding of hygiene and food safety standards
- Ability to work in shifts and under pressure
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Culinary diploma/certification is a plus
Salary Range
- Commis I: ₹18,000 – ₹25,000
- Commis II: ₹14,000 – ₹18,000
- Commis III: ₹12,000 – ₹14,000
