Modular Furniture Factory ManagerPosition Summary
The Modular Furniture Factory Manager is responsible for the complete management of factory operations, ensuring efficient production, quality control, workforce management, inventory control, machinery maintenance, safety compliance, and timely delivery of modular furniture products. The role requires strong leadership, planning, technical knowledge, and coordination with design, procurement, sales, and installation teams.
Key Responsibilities1. Production Planning & Execution
- Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
- Allocate jobs to machine operators and helpers.
- Ensure timely completion of all production orders.
- Monitor production efficiency and reduce wastage.
- Coordinate with design and project teams for production requirements.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials.
2. Factory Operations Management
- Oversee all factory activities including cutting, edge banding, drilling, assembly, packing, and dispatch.
- Monitor workflow and eliminate production bottlenecks.
- Maintain factory discipline and productivity.
- Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs).
3. Quality Control
- Ensure products meet company quality standards.
- Conduct inspections at every production stage.
- Verify dimensions, finishing, edge quality, hardware fitting, and assembly quality.
- Address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
4. Inventory & Material Management
- Monitor stock levels of plywood, MDF, laminates, hardware, adhesives, and consumables.
- Coordinate material requirements with procurement.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Reduce material wastage and pilferage.
- Conduct periodic stock audits.
5. Machinery & Maintenance
- Ensure proper operation of all machinery including:
- Panel Saw
- Edge Banding Machine
- Cold Press
- Air Compressors
- Dust Collector
- Hand Tools and Power Tools
- Schedule preventive maintenance.
- Coordinate repairs and service activities.
- Minimize machine downtime.
6. Workforce Management
- Supervise machine operators, carpenters, assemblers, and helpers.
- Assign responsibilities and monitor performance.
- Train employees on production processes and safety standards.
- Manage attendance, discipline, and productivity.
- Conduct regular team meetings.
7. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations.
- Conduct safety training and toolbox talks.
- Ensure proper use of PPE by all employees.
- Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness standards.
- Investigate and report workplace incidents.
8. Dispatch & Delivery Coordination
- Ensure finished products are packed properly.
- Verify dispatch quantities and documentation.
- Coordinate deliveries with installation teams.
- Ensure materials reach project sites on schedule.
9. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily production reports.
- Track productivity, wastage, and machine utilization.
- Submit inventory and maintenance reports.
- Monitor production costs and efficiency metrics.
- Maintain records of jobs, materials, and workforce performance.
10. Cost Control & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity.
- Reduce material wastage and rework.
- Improve machine utilization and workflow.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices.
- Achieve production targets within budget.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Wood Technology, Furniture Design, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years experience in modular furniture manufacturing.
- Experience managing furniture factory operations and production teams.

Responsibility Statement
The Factory Manager shall be fully responsible for the day-to-day operations, productivity, quality, safety, inventory, manpower management, machinery maintenance, and timely delivery of all modular furniture manufactured by the company.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
