- Production Management: Plan, schedule, and supervise daily grinding operations to meet production targets and delivery deadlines
- Team Supervision Lead, train, and mentor grinding machine operators. Allocate manpower and monitor performance
- Quality Control: Ensure all components meet dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and tolerance requirements per drawings. Conduct in-process and final inspections
- Machine Oversight: Set up, troubleshoot, and monitor surface, cylindrical, centerless, and tool & cutter grinding machines. Coordinate preventive maintenance with the maintenance team
- Process Improvement :Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework. Optimize wheel selection, feeds, speeds, and dressing cycles
- Documentation: Maintain shift reports, production logs, downtime records, and rejection analysis. Ensure compliance with ISO/IATF documentation
- Safety & 5S: Enforce PPE usage and safe operating procedures. Ensure coolant, swarf, and wheel disposal per EHS norms. Maintain cleanliness and 5S on the shop floor
- Inventory: Monitor stock of grinding wheels, coolants, gauges, and fixtures. Raise indents to avoid production stoppage
Requirements
- Education*: Diploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering or related field. B.E./B.Tech preferred
- Experience*: 3–6 years of hands-on experience on grinding machines with 1+ years in a supervisory role
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of surface, cylindrical, centerless, and CNC grinding operations
- Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T, and measuring instruments like micrometer, vernier, bore gauge, surface finish tester
- Understanding of wheel specifications, dressing, balancing, and coolant systems
- Soft Skills Leadership, problem-solving, communication, and ability to work in shifts
Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
