Job Summary
We are looking for a creative and trend-focused Fashion Designer specializing in men's shirts and jeans to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the latest fashion trends, fabric selection, garment construction, washes, prints, embroidery, and fit development. The role involves creating commercially successful collections that appeal to the wholesale market across South India.
Key Responsibilities
- Design innovative and marketable collections of men's shirts and jeans.
- Research fashion trends, customer preferences, and competitor products to develop new concepts.
- Create mood boards, sketches, CADs, and detailed technical specifications.
- Develop seasonal collections that align with the company's brand identity and market demand.
- Select suitable fabrics, trims, accessories, prints, embroidery, washes, and finishes.
- Work closely with the merchandising, sourcing, sampling, and production teams to develop prototypes and final products.
- Review sample garments and recommend improvements in fit, construction, quality, and styling.
- Ensure designs are commercially viable while maintaining quality and cost targets.
- Coordinate with vendors and fabric suppliers during product development.
- Maintain design documentation, tech packs, and product specifications.
- Stay updated on international and domestic fashion trends, colors, fabrics, and silhouettes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience designing men's shirts and denim/jeans.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabric types, fits, washes, prints, embroidery, and trims.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW, or other apparel design software.
- Experience creating tech packs and production-ready specifications.
- Good understanding of the men's apparel wholesale and retail market.
- Strong creativity with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple collections and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in designing collections for the Indian menswear market.
- Knowledge of imported fabrics, denim development, printing techniques, embroidery, appliqué, and garment washing processes.
- Understanding of costing and product development.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
