About the project
A large classical private residence in Ahmedabad involving extensive RCC/civil works and approximately 12,000 cubic feet of carved and ashlar sandstone (cornices, capitals, balustrades, dome elements, facing). Work is executed to drawings and method statements under a PMC, executive architect, and international stone consultants. All stone material is supplied by the owner.
The engagement
We are looking for an experienced contractor who will personally lead execution on site with his own team of skilled masons, stone fixers, carvers' coordinators, and helpers. You are responsible for mobilising, supervising, and paying your own manpower. Payment is on measured item rates / labour rates against monthly running bills, certified by the project management consultant, with standard retention. This is a rate-based contract engagement of long duration (2+ years of continuous work), not a fixed monthly salary.
Scope of work
- Fixing of dimension sandstone: gravity-bearing ashlar masonry and mechanically anchored cladding (Hilti/Leviat-type systems) as per consultant methodology
- Setting of carved elements: cornices, capitals, balustrades, dome coursework
- Associated civil works: masonry, concrete repair (including honeycombing rectification), grouting, waterproofing coordination
- Scaffolding, tools, tackles, and lifting arrangements for your work fronts
- Daily supervision of your team; attendance and safety compliance on site
Who should apply
- 10–15+ years of hands-on experience in stone construction — temple work, heritage buildings, haveli restoration, or premium residential facades
- Experience with sandstone from the Gwalior/Dholpur/Jodhpur belt strongly preferred; Sompura-tradition and temple-ecosystem backgrounds welcome
- Ability to mobilise and manage a team of 20–50 skilled and semi-skilled workers, scaling with work fronts
- Ability to read drawings and work to method statements; willingness to follow QA documentation (fixing records, level/line checks)
- Valid labour contractor licence (or willingness to obtain); PF/ESI compliance for your workforce as applicable
- Gujarati/Hindi essential
Pay: Up to ₹5,000,000.00 per year
