Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and confident Café Captain to lead our front-of-house service team and ensure smooth daily café operations.
The Café Captain will be responsible for maintaining high service standards, coordinating with the kitchen and service team, handling guests, supporting junior staff, and ensuring every customer receives an exceptional dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and ensure a warm and professional dining experience.
- Supervise the service team and coordinate daily floor operations.
- Allocate tables and service responsibilities among team members.
- Ensure timely and accurate order taking and food & beverage service.
- Coordinate closely with the kitchen, bar, and management team.
- Monitor the quality and presentation of food and beverages before serving.
- Ensure tables and service areas are properly set, clean, and maintained.
- Guide and train stewards and junior service staff.
- Handle guest requests, feedback, and complaints professionally.
- Ensure smooth service during peak hours and special events.
- Maintain strong knowledge of the café menu, coffee, beverages, ingredients, and specials.
- Monitor stock levels of service items and coordinate replenishment when required.
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and service standards are consistently followed.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Support the Café Manager / Restaurant Manager with daily operations.
- Maintain the premium ambience and service standards of Kohi Cafe.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in a café, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment.
- Previous experience as a Captain, Senior Steward, Restaurant Captain, or similar supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service.
- Excellent communication and guest-handling skills.
- Ability to supervise and motivate a service team.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Professional, confident, and well-groomed personality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and service quality.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, weekends, and holidays.
