We are looking for a Geospatial Analyst not a generic GIS or software development role, for the data generation team. The applicant will work with various datasets like satellite imageries, boundaries, weather data, etc. The applicant is expected to undertake the research and operational works as and when required. Roles and Responsibilities
Operations
-
Processing satellite imagery (optical and SAR) and developing insights out of them (eg, LULC, crop classification, or species mapping).

Run and develop models for developing insights.

Feature identification and classification from satellite images.

Prepare reports, accuracy assessments (F1 score, Kappa statistics), and client-facing maps/deliverables
- Handle and support the client deliveries
Research
-
The applicants are expected to carry out the required research for the operational works.
- Bring about their own experience in developing newer data products or optimisation of existing models.

Creation of software-based and/or programming-based models for the semi or complete automation of certain processes.
Ideal Candidate (Essential & good-to-have skills)
-
The ideal candidate would be holding a degree in Agriculture, Geography, Geoinformatics, Civil Engineering, Forestry, Remote Sensing, or related earth/ agricultural sciences field with a minimum of 2 -3 years (not more than 7 years) of working experience in the Geospatial domain.
- Applications from pure IT, Computer Science, or Electronics backgrounds without direct geospatial domain training will not be considered for this role.

Must have worked extensively with Raster data and satellite imagery.

Must have a great understanding of image classification and expert knowledge of the concepts of Remote Sensing.

An understanding of agricultural remote sensing is desired.

Hands-on knowledge of QGIS, Erdas Imagine, Arc GIS, and other Geospatial software

Good understanding of programming and automation logic

Hands-on experience with the Google Earth Engine and Python programming is an added advantage.

Should be a team player and have excellent communication skills.

Should be able to work independently and in a team environment with cross- team collaborations.

Understanding Geo statistics is an added advantage.
- Must know Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred
-
M.Tech or PhD in Agriculture, Geography, Forestry, Remote Sensing, or related domain. A person who has completed a PhD will be considered an experienced person.

Prior experience working with multi-state or national-scale geospatial datasets.

Exposure to agricultural insurance, banking, or government geospatial use cases.

Demonstrated prior work experience in at least one of the following: LULC classification, crop type/crop health mapping, or forestry/plantation species classification. Candidates must explicitly mention this experience in their application; applications without this will not be shortlisted.

Strong working knowledge of Remote Sensing principles — spectral indices, phenological signatures, multi-temporal analysis
