Weaver is seeking talented Tax professionals at the Associate level to join our Accounting Methods practice. This is a growing area with strong opportunities for career development and specialization. The successful candidate will help our clients with:
- Accounting method changes (Form 3115)
- Capitalization vs. deduction (Section 263A, repairs vs. improvements)
- Inventory accounting and compliance
- Tax accounting method reviews and planning opportunities

Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare accounting method change calculations and related tax adjustments (e.g., Section 481(a)).
- Assist with identifying tax savings opportunities related to accounting methods and revenue recognition.
- Analyze client financial data to determine proper tax accounting treatment.
- Support preparation of Form 3115 and related filings.
- Assist seniors in US on information we need to request from clients and managing project timelines.
- Respond to client requests and maintain strong client relationships to meet engagement goals and deliverables.
- Demonstrate the ability to understand Internal Revenue Code sections, regulations, and tax guidance related to accounting methods; training will be provided.
- Prepare schedules, workpapers, and deliverables for management review.
Corporate Compliance Responsibilities:
Understands and adheres to the policies and procedures compliance standards as set forth by Weaver and Tidwell, LLP. Ensure that the staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field required.
- Juris Doctor, Masters, or LLM degree in Tax preferred.
Skills:
- Experience with accounting methods, tax compliance, or tax consulting preferred
- Strong understanding of tax principles and financial accounting concepts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills
- Experience with large data sets and financial analysis tools is a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Excellent tax research, writing and oral communications skills.
- Team orientation and strong interpersonal skills.
- CPA candidate or Attorney required, CPA or Law license preferred.
- 2-3+ years of experience in public accounting, industry, or a combination of public accounting and industry experience, or its equivalent.
- Possess sufficient technical skills to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
