About the Role
Akshar Tutorials is looking for enthusiastic and knowledgeable Maths & Science Tutors to teach students from 6th to 10th class across SSC, CBSE and IGCSE curricula.
The ideal candidate should have strong conceptual knowledge in Mathematics and Science, excellent communication skills, and the ability to explain difficult concepts in a simple, practical and student-friendly manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Mathematics and Science to students from Classes 6–10.
- Cover the complete syllabus according to the respective SSC, CBSE and IGCSE curriculum.
- Build strong conceptual understanding rather than focusing only on memorization.
- Explain complex topics using simple examples, practical applications and appropriate teaching methods.
- Prepare students for school examinations, board examinations and competitive-level questions.
- Conduct regular tests, assessments and revision sessions.
- Identify students' strengths and areas requiring improvement.
- Provide individual attention and additional support to students who need it.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, practice questions and revision materials.
- Monitor students' academic progress and communicate important observations to the management/parents.
- Maintain a disciplined, positive and engaging classroom environment.
- Encourage students to ask questions and develop problem-solving and analytical skills.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong academic knowledge in Mathematics and Science.
- Ability to teach students from 6th to 10th class.
- Good understanding of SSC, CBSE and IGCSE syllabi.
- Excellent communication and explanation skills.
- Ability to simplify difficult concepts for students of different learning levels.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Patience and a student-friendly attitude.
- Ability to handle classroom discipline effectively.
- Passion for teaching and helping students improve academically.
- Prior teaching/tutoring experience will be an advantage.
Preferred Candidate
We are especially looking for candidates who can:
- Teach both Mathematics and Science confidently.
- Handle Classes 6–10 independently.
- Solve and explain application-based and higher-order thinking questions.
- Prepare students for board-level examinations.
- Adapt teaching methods according to individual student requirements.
- Use digital/projector-based teaching tools when required.
