Job Summary
The Senior Scientific Officer – Biochemistry Reporting will be responsible for reviewing, verifying, and authorizing Biochemistry test reports while ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely report release as per defined SOPs and laboratory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify Biochemistry test results before report release.
- Ensure accurate interpretation and validation of routine and specialized Biochemistry parameters.
- Identify abnormal, critical, or inconsistent results and initiate appropriate rechecks.
- Review QC results and ensure compliance with defined quality parameters.
- Check instrument flags, calibration status, and analytical discrepancies affecting reports.
- Ensure reports are released within the defined TAT (Turnaround Time).
- Coordinate with technical, processing, and other laboratory teams for result-related queries.
- Escalate critical values and technical discrepancies to the concerned authority as per SOP.
- Maintain proper documentation and records related to reporting and quality.
- Follow laboratory SOPs, quality policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Handle report corrections/amendments as per the approved process.
- Support internal audits, quality checks, and corrective/preventive actions.
- Guide junior team members and support smooth functioning of the reporting section.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of patient reports at all times.
Qualification
- M.Sc. / B.Sc. in Biochemistry / Medical Biochemistry or relevant qualification.
- Relevant experience in Biochemistry reporting, result validation, and laboratory operations preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Biochemistry parameters and result validation.
- Good understanding of QC, calibration, and laboratory quality processes.
- Ability to identify abnormal and discrepant results.
- Good analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle reporting responsibilities.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts, as per business requirement.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per hour
