Job Purpose:
To ensure steel castings are heat treated according to approved procedures to achieve the required mechanical properties, metallurgical structure, and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and supervise heat treatment processes for carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel castings.
- Operate and monitor heat treatment furnaces, including annealing, normalizing, quenching, tempering, stress relieving, and solution annealing.
- Monitor furnace temperature, soaking time, cooling rate, and quenching media.
- Verify hardness, mechanical properties, and microstructure after heat treatment.
- Investigate and resolve heat treatment defects such as cracking, distortion, and hardness variation.
- Maintain heat treatment records and ensure traceability of castings.
- Coordinate with Melting, Foundry, Fettling, Machine Shop, and Quality departments.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, ASTM/ASME standards, and safety procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality and furnace efficiency.
Qualifications:
- B.E. / B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
- 3–8 years of experience in the steel casting/foundry industry.
Pay: From ₹25,000.00 per month
