Trainer – Security Guard
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and qualified Trainer – Security Guard for our skill development training programs in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.
The trainer will be responsible for delivering theoretical and practical training in security operations, access control, patrolling, surveillance, emergency response, fire safety, crowd management, incident reporting, workplace discipline, and professional conduct.
The training shall be delivered as per the prescribed curriculum, Qualification Pack/NOS, NSQF standards, and applicable skill development guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom and practical training for the Security Guard job role.
- Train candidates on the duties, responsibilities, and professional conduct expected from security personnel.
- Provide practical training in:
- Access control
- Entry and exit monitoring
- Visitor management
- Vehicle checking
- Material inward and outward control
- Gate operations
- Patrolling techniques
- Surveillance and observation
- Incident reporting
- Emergency response
- Train candidates in maintaining:
- Visitor registers
- Vehicle movement registers
- Material movement registers
- Duty registers
- Incident reports
- Shift handover records
- Explain procedures for identifying suspicious persons, activities, packages, and security threats.
- Train candidates in basic frisking and checking procedures while maintaining professionalism and dignity.
- Provide practical exposure to CCTV monitoring and basic surveillance procedures.
- Train candidates in fire prevention and basic firefighting procedures.
- Demonstrate the correct use of fire extinguishers and emergency equipment.
- Explain evacuation procedures, emergency exits, assembly points, and basic disaster response.
- Train candidates in crowd management and handling gatherings, events, queues, and emergency situations.
- Provide basic training in first aid and response to medical emergencies.
- Train candidates in communication with supervisors, employees, visitors, and emergency services.
- Explain professional grooming, uniform standards, discipline, punctuality, and workplace etiquette.
- Train candidates in handling difficult visitors, conflicts, and sensitive situations calmly and professionally.
- Explain the importance of confidentiality, integrity, alertness, and responsible behaviour.
- Train candidates in protecting people, property, equipment, documents, and organizational assets.
- Explain night-duty procedures and security precautions during non-operational hours.
- Conduct drills, role plays, demonstrations, and practical security exercises.
- Ensure training delivery as per prescribed Qualification Pack (QP), National Occupational Standards (NOS), NSQF curriculum, and training hours.
- Prepare lesson plans, session plans, presentations, assignments, practical exercises, and demonstrations.
- Conduct regular internal assessments, mock tests, practical evaluations, and revision sessions.
- Maintain candidate attendance, assessment records, progress reports, practical logs, and other training documentation.
- Identify candidates requiring additional support and provide remedial training.
- Prepare candidates for final assessment and certification.
- Train candidates in employability skills, workplace communication, discipline, teamwork, and interview preparation.
- Coordinate with the Centre Manager, Training Coordinator, Assessors, and Project Team for smooth implementation of the training program.
- Support placement activities for candidates in security agencies, corporate offices, hospitals, malls, educational institutions, warehouses, factories, residential complexes, and other establishments.
Qualification
Candidates should preferably possess one of the following qualifications:
- 12th Pass with relevant security industry experience
- Graduate in any discipline with security-related experience
- Diploma / Certification in Security Management
- Ex-Servicemen / Defence Personnel with relevant training experience
- Retired Police / Paramilitary personnel with suitable experience
- Any other relevant qualification with experience in security operations and training
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of relevant industry and/or training experience in security services, guarding operations, facility security, industrial security, or related areas.
- Candidates with experience as a Security Supervisor / Security Officer / Security Trainer / Senior Security Guard will be preferred.
- Experience in corporate security, industrial units, hospitals, malls, educational institutions, warehouses, or security agencies will be an added advantage.
- Ex-servicemen with training or instructional experience will be preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of security guarding operations.
- Good understanding of access control, patrolling, and surveillance.
- Knowledge of visitor and material movement control.
- Basic knowledge of CCTV monitoring.
- Knowledge of fire safety and emergency response procedures.
- Familiarity with evacuation and crowd management procedures.
- Basic first-aid knowledge.
- Ability to conduct physical demonstrations, drills, and role plays.
- Strong observation and situational awareness.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong classroom management and trainee engagement skills.
- Ability to explain security procedures in a simple and practical manner.
- Good discipline, punctuality, and professional conduct.
- Basic computer knowledge including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate effectively in Telugu is essential; working knowledge of English and Hindi will be an added advantage.
