ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary position
Objective
To lead and strengthen the QA/QC framework of the Alccopave Plant by ensuring consistency in product performance, compliance with standards (IS, ASTM, EN), and customer satisfaction through preventive quality practices and process excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Quality Management System (QMS)
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve the ISO 9001-based QMS, ensuring compliance across production, procurement, and dispatch.
- Conduct periodic internal audits, management reviews, and facilitate third-party audits (ISO, BIS, etc.).
- Maintain calibration schedules for testing equipment and ensure traceability.
- Material & Product Quality Assurance
- Approve raw material sources and ensure material testing (cement, pigments, aggregates, admixtures) as per IS and internal specifications.
- Implement and monitor in-process quality control at batching, compaction, and curing stages.
- Ensure finished products meet relevant Indian/ international standards.
- Statistical Quality Control & Reporting
- Develop data-driven dashboards (e.g., standard deviation, coefficient of variation etc.).
- Report daily/weekly/monthly quality KPIs to the Business Head.
- Prepare detailed statistical reports on quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, waste reduction) for senior management.
- Supplier & Customer Interface
- Define supplier quality requirements; ensure raw material quality consistency through audits.
- Coordinate with customers for product approvals, complaint resolution, and quality documentation (inspection reports, test certificates etc.).
- People & Training
- Lead, train, and motivate QC technicians and production operators on SOPs, mix design control, curing protocols, and visual inspection criteria.
- Conduct quality awareness sessions and safety briefings.
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Leas and participate in R&D trials with R&D teams for new mix formulations or product enhancements.
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with IS/BIS marking, environmental, and occupational health and safety standards.
- Maintain detailed and traceable documentation for all inspections, trials, calibrations, and NCRs.
QA Quality Manager in a pavers (concrete / precast) manufacturing company is responsible for ensuring that all paver blocks, interlocks, kerbstones, and related products meet design specifications, customer requirements, and applicable quality standards (such as IS codes, ISO, or customer‑specific norms).
Core role overview
· Leads the Quality Management System (QMS) for the plant (often aligned with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards).
· Ensures product conformity of pavers from raw material (cement, aggregates, admixtures) through mixing, moulding, curing, and dispatch.
· Manages quality team (QC officers, lab technicians, inspectors) and coordinates with production, maintenance, supply chain, and sales.
Key responsibilities (pavers context)
· Process & system control
· Develop and maintain quality plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and procedures for paver production.
· Implement and improve Statistical Process Control (SPC) of curing, strength development, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish.
Raw material & mix‑design control
· Review and approve concrete mix designs for different paver grades and colours.
· Monitor quality of cement, aggregates, pigments, and admixtures through routine testing and supplier evaluation.
Testing, inspection & compliance
· Oversee compressive strength, water absorption, density, slip‑resistance, and dimensional checks as per IS codes or project specs.
· Ensure traceability and documentation of test records, non‑conformances, and rework.
Customer & project support
· Respond to customer complaints and defects (chipping, cracking, colour variation) with root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
· Support project‑wise quality submittals, approvals, and site quality audits for major infrastructure or real‑estate projects.
QMS, audits & continuous improvement
· Prepare for and manage internal audits, ISO / regulatory audits, and third‑party inspections.
· Drive kaizen, 5S, and other improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, and downtime in the paver line.
Typical qualifications & skills
Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering with relevant experience.
Experience: 15-20 years in concrete precast, paves manufacturing, with proven QA/QC exposure.
Technical skills:
Strong knowledge of IS codes for concrete pavers, block work, and mix design.
Familiarity with ISO 9001, NCR management, SPC, and basic ERP/QMS software.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
