A Tool & Cutter Grinder sets up and operates manual, sharpen, and recondition precision cutting tools (like drills, end mills, and reamers). They interpret blueprints, select grinding wheels, and measure tolerances with micron-level accuracy.
- Machine Setup & Operation: manually set up universal grinding machines.
- Tool Sharpening: Grind cutting angles, clearance, and flutes on multi-point and single-point tools.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect finished tools using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, optical comparators) to meet gage-maker tolerances.
- Wheel Management: Dress, true, and mount appropriate grinding wheels based on metal properties and material requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant vocational/technical certification.
- Experience: Typically 1 to 5 years working in tool rooms or machine shops with specific grinding equipment.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
