Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and responsible Environmental Monitoring Field Chemist to join our environmental monitoring team. The candidate will be involved in field sampling, environmental monitoring, sample handling, field measurements, documentation, and coordination with laboratory personnel.
The position is suitable for a B.Sc./M.Sc. Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related fresher who is willing to travel to project sites and learn environmental monitoring procedures and laboratory practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field sampling of ambient air, stack emission, water, wastewater, soil, and other environmental samples as per approved procedures.
- Assist in Ambient Air Quality Monitoring (AAQM) activities.
- Assist in Stack Emission Monitoring and collection of stack samples.
- Carry out field measurements such as pH, temperature, conductivity, TDS, dissolved oxygen, etc., as applicable.
- Properly label, preserve, pack, and transport samples to the laboratory.
- Maintain sample collection records, field observation sheets, monitoring forms, and chain-of-custody documents.
- Operate and handle environmental monitoring instruments after proper training.
- Ensure instruments are checked/calibrated before field monitoring.
- Follow applicable SOPs, standard test methods, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
- Assist laboratory chemists in sample preparation and analysis when required.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and care of field equipment.
- Coordinate with client/site representatives during monitoring activities.
- Prepare daily field monitoring reports and submit data to the reporting/laboratory team.
- Travel to different project sites as required for environmental monitoring assignments.
- Follow company requirements related to ISO/IEC 17025, quality management, health & safety, and environmental procedures.

Educational Qualification
Essential:
- B.Sc. in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Environmental Chemistry, Zoology, Botany or related discipline.
Desirable:
- Basic knowledge of environmental testing and laboratory practices.
- Knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel.
Skills Required
- Basic knowledge of chemistry and environmental testing.
- Willingness to work at industrial/project sites.
- Ability to operate field instruments after training.
- Good observation and documentation skills.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Willingness to travel and stay at project locations when required.
