Job Title: Category Manager
Role Objective
The Category Manager is responsible for driving net sales growth, profitability, visibility, and
customer experience for the assigned portfolio by owning end-to-end category performance across
sales, traffic, conversion, availability, advertising efficiency, NPD performance, and customer ratings,
against defined targets (TGTs).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Revenue Growth
Own Target vs Actual Net Sales for the category and ensure achievement of monthly,
quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Monitor TGT Tacos vs Actual Tacos to improve transaction velocity through pricing,
promotions, and assortment actions.
Identify sales gaps and execute corrective actions through assortment optimization, deal
planning, and demand forecasting.
2. Advertising & Marketing Effectiveness
Own TGT Ad Spends vs Actual Ad Spends with a focus on ROI, efficiency, and scalability.
Plan and optimize performance marketing campaigns to drive incremental traffic and
conversions while maintaining efficiency benchmarks.
Continuously analyze ad performance and reallocate spends to high-performing ASINs.
3. New Product Development (NPD) Performance
Drive TGT NPD Clicks per Day per ASIN vs Actual NPD Clicks through launch readiness,
content quality, and visibility levers.
Ensure achievement of TGT NPD Conversion % vs Actual Conversion % by optimizing pricing,
reviews, A+ content, and customer feedback loops.
Own post-launch tracking and course correction for underperforming NPDs.
4. Visibility & Traffic Growth
Deliver TGT Visibility Clicks vs Actual Visibility Clicks by improving search ranking, keyword
strategy, deals participation, and content optimization.
Work cross-functionally to maximize organic and paid discoverability across the platform.
5. Supply Chain & Customer Promise
Ensure high serviceability by achieving TGT % of ASINs in (T+1) Delivery vs Actual through
proactive inventory planning and FC allocation.
Coordinate with supply chain and warehouse teams to minimize stock-outs and delivery
delays.
6. Customer Experience & Ratings
Own TGT Portfolio Average Ratings vs Actual Ratings to ensure sustained customer
satisfaction.
Identify and address rating drivers such as product quality, packaging, delivery experience,
and post-purchase issues.
Work with internal and external stakeholders to close negative feedback loops.
7. Performance Tracking & Stakeholder Management
Maintain regular performance dashboards covering all TGT vs Actual metrics.
Present insights, risks, and action plans to leadership and cross-functional teams.
Drive continuous improvement through data-backed decision-making.
