Job Summary
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, reliability, and availability of plant machinery and utilities through preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance. The role focuses on minimizing equipment downtime, improving machine efficiency, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment failures.
- Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities for reliability improvement.
- Reduce equipment downtime through root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
- Prepare and maintain maintenance schedules and records.
- Coordinate with production to plan maintenance activities.
- Ensure availability of critical spare parts and manage inventory.
- Supervise maintenance technicians and external contractors.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Support installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment.
- Participate in TPM, Kaizen, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement projects.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports and KPIs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- 2–8 years of experience in industrial maintenance (depending on role level).
- Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, motors, pumps, compressors, conveyors, and utility systems.
- Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Experience using CMMS or maintenance management software is preferred.
